EMF and EMR testing | EMF and EMR testing |
In today’s world of modern convenience we are all constantly exposed to electromagnetic radiation (EMR). Humans evolved against a background of natural electromagnetic radiation from the cosmos and terrestrial sources, most of these frequencies of radiation don’t adversely affect us, although electromagnetic frequencies from man-made sources may be detrimental to our health as many studies indicate. Uncertainty about potentially serious hazards does not justify ignoring them . Exposure to these fields can come from many sources such as power transmission lines, building electrical wiring, and electrical appliances; however we can make choices and changes within our environments that minimize our exposure to electromagnetic fields.
Much research has been done into the potential health effects to humans of electromagnetic fields, researches report that the human body will take on any electromagnetic field to which it is exposed, and allowing electric currents to flow efficiently through the skin into the body, magnetic fields are deeply absorbed into the body in their entirety. Alternating magnetic fields, such as those produced from our AC power supply and mains electrical appliances induce electric fields and currents inside the body, thereby affecting the body’s natural electrical balance and cell functioning, therefore adversely affecting health. People who are sensitive to EMR may experience acute symptoms such as a sensation of warmth or burning with or without the development of a red skin rash, other reactions can be tingling sensations in the skin and dryness of the eyes and mucous membranes after only short exposure times. Long term effects of exposure may include:
EKO Building Biology ServicesEKO Building Biology aims to reduce exposure of EMR by: eliminating the source of the radiation; increasing the distance between the person and the radiation source; substituting the source of radiation for a non emitting device; replacement of conductive building materials and furniture with alternatives made of non conductive materials and finally shielding people from the radiation source. |
